Here are my favorite Greek Wine Blogs with my comments:

Wine Commanders is a dynamic team by Grigoris Michailos and Yiannis Karakasis; WSET Diploma holders based in Athens, Greece and WSET certified educators. Their blog goal is to present their favorite Greek and international wines, through tasting as well as visiting various Estates.

Yiannis comes from Hellenic Navy and is also a Master of Wine candidate, travelling a lot to both Greece and abroad. Grigoris on the other hand, comes from the National Technical University and the Chemical Engineering department and is the owner of Paradiso Wine Restaurant. He also consults an on-line wine shop and writes articles for international magazines.

I really like their way, as well as their videos making their project even more prompt and approachable. You can sign up for the Newsletter to be informed about their next wine-tasting session and join if you like!

This is the website of wine writer Nico Manessis. Nico Manessis was born in Corfu in 1952 but left Greece at a young age and lives abroad since then. He studied hotel management specializing in wine in the UK and then worked in major wine producing regions of France, California, New York and Switzerland, where he still lives today. His knowledge and acquaintances in the wine industry are many, as he has worked as a salesman, supplies consultant, importer and winery manager for large wine companies in Europe and the USA.

It is worth mentioning that Nico Manessis is the producer of 'Pelican's Watch', the documentary film referring to the danger that threatens the unique vineyards of Santorini from the development of tourism and constructions in the beautiful island of Cyclades.

German origin Markus Stolz is a wine enthusiast for the last 20 years. He is married to a Greek and -having spent a decade in Greece- he had the chance to taste many Greek wines, travel across the country and meet many winemakers in person.

His blog Elloinos (by merging 'Ellinas'=Greek and 'Oinos'=Wine) is to present various Greek wines and spread the knowledge and understanding of the subject, contributing to the Greek wine blogging scene. Today Markus and his family have moved back to Germany -Munich-, but he promises he will sustain his activity and involvement on Greek wines!

Kostis Dalamaras is a very special and fortunate case for Greek wine. Being young, a sixth generation grape-grower and winemaker, he studied viticulture and oenology in Burgundy and returned to his homeland  in Greece, beautiful Naoussa, to carry on his family’s long winemaking tradition. Kostis is researching, traveling, constantly tasting wines and most importantly... he seems to enjoy it!

I first met Kostis online –we were following each other’s blog. Well, to be precise, I followed both of his blogs as apart from 'Vine and Wine Adventures' where he blogs his travels, he also writes at 'Combining Business with Pleasure' blog, which focuses on wine tastings and culinary experiences! But let’s leave him introduce himself: "The wine experiences of a French Syrah and Naoussa Xinomavro lover who returned from the 'nest' of Pinot Noir and continues his excursions in Naoussa –the land full of vines!"

Here is the new website by Stavros Moustakas Octopus; the restless oenophile - cook - voyager from Athens! Stavros is involved in wine since 2006, he samples, reads and travels; has surely the wine bug –as all of us here!

His blog is dealing with both Greek and International wines and a big portion of his writing is dedicated to gastronomy, cooking and restaurants. Of course his wine trips is the main reason to write!

This is the website of an independent team of seven people from Greece and Cyprus, supported by wine experts and oenologists, with the sole purpose to establish the first online database of large format wine bottles around the world. The team is trying to provide visitors with the most valid information regarding these special, collectable bottles.

What’s interesting is the fact that their team is not being funded by any merchant, supply chain or wine producer; thus they provide information and equal publicity for all producers.
